Crisafulli Government backs Gregory SES Volunteers

· The Crisafulli Government is investing in Gregory through the 2026-27 Queensland SES Support Grant Program.

The Crisafulli Government is continuing to strengthen Queensland's disaster preparedness, with the five SES units from throughout Gregory to benefit through the 2026-27 Queensland SES Support Grant Program.

More than $335,000 in projects will help ensure local SES volunteers have the facilities, vehicles and equipment they need to continue protecting the Gregory Electorate during storms, floods, cyclones, search and rescue operations and other emergencies

The investment forms part of the Crisafulli Government's statewide commitment to strengthen SES capability, with 35 projects funded across Queensland and an additional 12 priority SES vehicles fast-tracked for replacement.

Member for Gregory Sean Dillon said the investment was great news for local SES units and the communities they serve.

“Our SES volunteers are always there when our community needs them most, and this investment is about making sure they have the facilities and equipment they need to do their job safely and effectively,” Mr Dillon said.

“These projects will strengthen the capability of the local SES units and help volunteers continue their incredible work protecting local families during emergencies.

“Unlike Labor, which neglected frontline emergency services for a decade, the Crisafulli Government is backing our volunteers with the resources they need to keep Queenslanders safe.”

Minister for Police and Emergency Services Dan Purdie said the Crisafulli Government was committed to supporting SES volunteers across the state.

“Every Queenslander relies on our SES volunteers when disaster strikes, and we're making sure they have the facilities, vehicles and equipment they need to keep communities safe,” Minister Purdie said.

“Whether it's upgrading local SES headquarters, improving operational facilities or replacing ageing vehicles, we're giving our volunteers the tools they need to respond whenever Queenslanders need them most.”

Queensland SES Acting Chief Officer Danny Baade said the funding would improve the safety and operational capability of SES volunteers across Queensland.

“It’s vital that our members are supported in disaster preparedness and response," Mr Baade said.

“Whether it’s floods, cyclones, or search and rescues, this funding will allow our units to be equipped to help Queenslanders when they need it most.”
